What do I know about Integrating Technology?

There are many different ways you can integrate technology in an everyday classroom. There are many different programs that help teachers make leasson plans easier and help them get children to understand. Using the Smartboard is an amazing way to browse the internet and further explain certain information. applying microsoft word, microsoft excel, and power point are programs that help teachers specify lesson plans.

Using technology in the classroom makes things more interesting for the students. It allows them to express themselves and be creative. Having technology in the classroom makes it more interesting and allows for a different atmosphere rather then a tradition classroom.

What do I think about using visual thinking software in the classroom? What about the SMARTboard? What will they do for students and for me?

Using visual software in the classroom is very important to me. Visual thinking should be a huge thing among early childhood teaching. Younger children learn easier by using pictures and visual examples. The SMARTboard is a huge tool for teachers to use, it makes teaching easier for them and I think they should have knowledge of the tool. The SMARTboard is an amazing tool especially for the early childhood teachers. these tools will help students to learn easier and it's a tool to help teachers explain material much easier.

What I think about using geo tools in the classroom

I think that using Geo Tools in the classroom is a new fun way of learning in math, geography, or basically any class can find a way to use geo toold in their classroom. I plan on using it almost the same way we did in our classroom. I would give them a math problem, and the solution would be the point(s) they need to be at, and I would also hide certain things for them to find. It would be a fun learning experience for the kids and I believe kids learn easier and better when they are having fun. Using Geo Tools in the classroom is a new fun way to allow technology enter your classroom.

How can technology help me improve my teaching practice?

Technology is a big part of today's society. Allowing it to help me teach and putting it in my lesson plans are a big help. It can make things easier and more explanatory. Allowing technology to be put into my teachnig style will allow the children to be educated with a technology background, this also allows them to be more knowledgeable with using technology and letting themselves develop the technological improvements being made over the years.

How I feel and What I've learned from this Course, So Far

I feel that so far, I've already learned how to do most things in my highschool classes. But things like making a blog and a portfolio, are both new to me and I enjoy exploring around the sites and learning new things. I liked making the newsletter, it was really fun because I love pretending I have a class and write things like that, it allows me to be creative and use my imagination. This class is fun and interesting to learn about new technology.

What do I now knoware some good reasons to use technology in the classroom?

There are many good reasons to use technology in the classrooom. For example, putting children at computers, allows them to ask each other questions and figure out the technology by themselves. This is level one in the three steps of learning, "Knowing". They know the technology themselves.
Level two is "knowing how to" , which could be where i step in and teach them how to work with technology and help answer their questions that they can not figure out themselves.
Level three is "Understanding", this step allows me to watch them use the technology themselves and see them use it without asking questions, using it and understanding what they are suppose todo. taking what they learned and developing their minds.
Using technology can improve learning and instruction, it promotes the students to explore technology and learn how to use it themselves.
Using the technology won't improve their grades unless it's integrated into their learning enviroments.

What do I need to know about technology integration before I become a teacher?

i think i have a lot to learn. i mainly know how to use excell and word, but i could use more advanced information. i would need to know the environment and know the technology, that way i can answer questions and i know what i'm doing. just because i use the computer, doesn't mean i'm using technology. by knowing what i'm doing and using all sorts of technology is actually knowing the technology. the children's grades will not improve, but using it as a classroom resource is allowing my students to learn about technology and allow them to learn.

What do I know and feel about integrating tehnology in the classroom?

I feel that it is important to have technology in the classroom because it's our future and i believe children need to know how to use new technology and what to expect when using it. Isn't that one of the reasons why i have to take this class, so i know how to use the technology when i move on in school or with my career? Technology is advancing throughout the years and it is a big part of our everyday lives, so knowing how to use it is an important aspect.
